What We Can Offer

Currently, Install Plus only offers a fitting service for bathrooms, and does not act as a supplier. When it comes to finding a bathroom supplier, there is so much choice; from DIY stores, bathroom studios, building merchants and the internet; that we prefer the customer to source their own products. However, whilst we do not provide bathrooms, we are only too willing to offer you advice on what to look for in a quality product, and to recommend the best manufacturers. Then, when you have chosen a bathroom which suits your needs and your budget, Install Plus can provide you with a fast, efficient installation service.

Before Buying A Bathroom

• When it comes to fitting, we like to try to hide as much of the pipe-work as possible from view. This might involve taking up sections of flooring to route pipes underneath, rather than surface mounting pipe-work to the walls.
• It always pays to buy the best fittings, shower trays, shower screens and baths that you can afford, to ensure that your bathroom will be an investment worth making.
• During installation we will take time to ensure baths and showers are sealed against walls to avoid nasty leaks in the future.
• We would always recommend when building a shower area in stud-work that it is best to use marine ply or cement based backing boards for a tiling surface, rather than plaster board, which will break down if water starts to penetrate through the tiled surface.
• If you intend to tile onto a wooden floor you will need to lay marine plywood over the existing floor, screwed down at 150mm centres to strengthen the floor and avoid the floor tiling from cracking in the future.
• Floors should never be tiled directly to the existing flooring unless it is a sand and cement floor. Tiles on a wooden floor are always laid using a flexible tile adhesive and grout to allow for any movement in the floor.
• If you intend to lay under-floor heating, an insulation board needs to be laid over your existing floor first, then the heating element is laid, and then tiled. A thermostat is mounted on the wall to control the temperature which is wired into a fused spur.
